New Moon Ritual: Beaver Moon Restoratives and Yoga Nidra

  • Roots & River United States (map)

Moon rituals are a magical way to connect with the natural cycles of life and nature. New moons remind us to check in with the parts of ourselves that are expanding and the areas of our lives that are experiencing new beginnings. In yogic philosophy, one big obstacle to letting go of suffering is what lives in our unconsciousness. As the new moon begins in darkness, we can use Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to explore the parts of us that are in the shadows to bring us into our own light.

The December New Cold Moon is named for the time of the year when the temperature drops and it’s time to hibernate. As we look to the spiritual meaning of the Cold Moon, seeking comfort and wisdom for how to navigate this next cycle, remember how the natural world has adapted. Themes of rest, renewal, and shadow is the wisdom that will guide us through the last days of the year. Join Carrie in a practice of being soft and gentle with yourself as we explore stillness in the cold shadows of winter and the dark sky of the new moon.
